SK Gaming signs Luminosity’s CS:GO roster
The Brazilian team alongside their manager and coach will be joining SK Gaming on July 1, Luminosity announced on their website. This move ends a long dispute over the future of one of the strongest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squads in the world.
An unexpected contract dispute blew up between Luminosity and SK in May. The players reportedly signed letters of intent with Luminosity Gaming in December of last year only to enter talks with SK Gaming in February. They eventually signed contracts with SK that would see them move to SK this July. But before the move was completed, the squad seemed to have changed their minds and decided to stay with Luminosity, announcing that SK Gaming had allegedly pressured them into signing contracts. Then on June 22, SK Gaming revealed that it was releasing its current CS:GO team, telling fans to expect news soon.
Captain of the team, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, commented on the end of the dispute: “We are very excited to see what comes next and we will for sure keep doing what we love most; work hard and play Counter-Strike. Thanks as well to all our great fans, who will hopefully keep supporting us, Luminosity, and SK in the future.”
This is the roster and staff of SK Gaming CS:GO starting July 1:
- Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo – Team Captain
- Marcelo "coldzera" David
- Tacio "TACO" de Melo
- Fernando "fer" Alvarenga
- Lincoln "fnx" Laua
- Wilton "zews" Prado - Team Coach
